Our website aims to give you as much information as possible about the Practice, those who work with us, the services we offer, how to contact us when you need help, and to keep you up to date with health care services locally.

Cellar consulting Rooms

We have recently completed work in our basement area which provides two new consulting rooms a waiting area and toilet under the existing waiting room. We now have an  extra treatment room (Cellar Room 1) which will be used by GP's, Nurses, Midwives, Retinal Screening, Aneurysm Screening etc and another smaller room (Cellar room 2) which will be used for blood tests and admin. If you are booked with a clinician in the Cellar the receptionist will make you aware of this when you book an appointment. When you arrive for your appointment please check in at reception as usual and you will be called to the cellar.

Dr Thornton Maccallum

Dr MacCallum will retire from General Practice at the end of February.  We feel sure that you will want to join us in wishing him a long, happy and healthy retirement.

If you would like to sign his card or contribute towards a retirement gift please ask at reception

Repeat prescriptions - A call for help

We, and our local Pharmacy colleagues, are struggling to meet patient expectations with regard to repeat prescription requests.

In any three month period we will produce prescriptions for around 36,000 repeat items so we must be allowed time to produce a prescription, have it checked & signed and the Pharmacy must have time to dispense the item. The system is put under more pressure by patients who forget to place their order then expect to go to the front of the queue and by patients querying where their order is in the system.

Order in good time.   YOU MUST ALLOW US TWO WORKING DAYS before you collect your prescription from Rowcroft Medical Centre.

If you are collecting from your Pharmacy then YOU MUST ALLOW A FURTHER WORKING DAY before you visit your Pharmacy.

Please don’t call us to check on the progress of your order.

With your help we can make the system run more smoothly for everyone.      Thank you
